Governor Baker Extends PFML Notice Requirement for Employees

Governor Baker’s office issued a further notice today in follow up to this week’s announcement that employee payroll contributions to Massachusetts Paid Family Medical Leave were being delayed for 3 months.  The deadlines for employee notification and employer exemption applications have also been extended.  The deadline for employee notification is now September 30, 2019 and the deadline for employer exemption applications is December 20, 2019.

As a reminder, employee payroll deductions will now begin on October 1, 2019.  The employee contribution rate has also increased to .75% in order to compensate for the delayed start.
