Royal Successfully Argues Motion for Summary Judgment

Royal attorneys successfully obtained summary judgment for a Fortune 500 Company in a federal wrongful discharge, defamation, and retaliation lawsuit. 

The court adopted our position that Plaintiff’s unsupported assertions were not enough to defeat summary judgment on the basis of the following: 1) Breach of Contract as the Employee Handbook is not a contact as a matter of law; and 2) Termination in violation of Massachusetts Public Policy.

In addition, the court found in Defendant’s favor by dismissing the defamation claim alleged against multiple co-defendants named in the lawsuit.
