Royal Successfully Obtains Lack of Probable Cause Finding

Published:  October 12, 2017

Royal successfully obtained a lack of probable cause finding for a non-profit human services agency after a former employee claimed she was terminated for being a single mother.  However, the employee also had a long written history of attendance issues.  The complainant argued that she was fired when she requested a flexible schedule, alleging that another single mother was given preferential treatment.  Royal successfully argued that single mother is not a protected class and also successfully demonstrated that the non-discriminatory reason for complainant’s termination was performance related issues.
