Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday Reinstated

Published:  August 15, 2018

For the first time since the year 2015, Massachusetts will have a sales tax free holiday. Governor Baker signed a bill stating that August 11 and 12 will be sales tax free days in the state of Massachusetts going forward.

The holiday eliminates the state’s 6.25% tax on the Aug. 11-12 weekend for all retail goods, with a number of exceptions, including single items over $2,500, meals, motor vehicles, motorboats, and marijuana and tobacco products.

This bill was passed by legislature in July of this year.
